DME AWARD CEREMONY 2008

Following the great success in 2007, the 2nd edition of the DME Award took place in the Welsh capital of Cardiff. The DME Award Ceremony was organised as the central event of the Cardiff Design Festival, which included an International Design Conference and workshops on Design Management, providing a platform for prize winners to share their experiences with local businesses.
Over 200 applicants from 22 countries were in attendance. Among the companies selected were notable entries such as Virgin Atlantic, TNT post, KTM power Sports, Roca, Senz Umbrellas, EDF, Madara Cosmetics and the NHS. Nineteen companies and organisations were presented with the DME Award, bringing with it the prestige of international recognition for their excellence in Design Management.
The DME Award Ceremony 2008 had an outstanding atmosphere, being held in the landmark Wales Millennium Centre with opening speeches by Iauan Wyn Jones AM (Deputy First Minister of the Welsh Assembly Government, 2008) and Reinhard Büscher (Head of Unit Innovation Policy Development at the European Commission, 2008). With over 250 guests from distinguished members of the jury, prestigious professionals and academics from the design and business community and design-minded organizations, this gala evening became a truly inspiring night in honour of the DME Award Winners 2008.
