Case summary:
Essentially a partnership between Alzira Peixoto and Carlos Mendonca, SimpleForms Design blends traditional materials with modern designs to produce a unique range of Products in harmony with their environment. The Products comprise a number of collections focused either on materials or functions. Design is suffused throughout the company and Design disciplines impact on all aspects of its being from Business strategy to New product development. Much emphasis is placed on environmental Sustainability and local materials and traditional craft skills, some of which were in decline, are featured prominently. Although founded relatively recently (2004), and a micro company, their Product scan be found all over Europe and overseas, namely in Korea and Japan. This quickly won recognition can be attributed to a clear concern for the environment allied with New aesthetics.

STRATEGY
The company strategy outlined by the CEO is that SimpleForms Design is a young company with the aim of creating objects that reflect and respond to the environment which they have been targeted at.
